Pawsystem.com was launched in November,
2004 and the P.A.W.System was developed and first
utilized in 1994. We are located near beautiful Thousand Oaks, CA.
This
site is a tribute to two very special Cocker Spaniels - (Kysha
(KEE-shuh) and Kealy (KEE-lee) (Known as "The Girlz").
Kysha was born with a congenital spinal condition (that's Kysha
on the left - the little buff Cocker (our little trouper Angel
girl...)). After major spinal cord surgery at the tender age of two,
Kysha's vet recommended that we only use a shoulder harness for her, to
minimize the strain on her neck and spine while out on
walks.
We figured that what worked so
well for our special-needs dog would also be beneficial to ALL
dogs. Kealy, the little black Cocker on the right, also enjoyed the
comfort of the P.A.W.System. Sadly, both of our
little angels crossed over "The Rainbow Bridge" within a couple of months of one another in early
2003, but their memories live on in our hearts, and the
P.A.W.System is dedicated to them and to helping
other dogs (their fellow "fur-people") enjoy more safe and
comfortable walks.
An ounce of prevention truly IS worth a
pound of cure, and the use of shoulder harnesses is an easy way to
avoid painful or debilitating injuries to your best buddy (or
buddies, in our case). The P.A.W.System has been
used to accommodate up to four dogs simultaneously. I was able to
walk two Cocker dogs, one husky mix and one Shiba Inu at the same
time! (I left the "partridge in a pear tree" at home that
day...)The
P.A.W.System provides a top-notch system that
enables a safe and comfortable dog-walking experience for dogs
and their owners alike.

A heartfelt dedication to
the inspiration behind P.A.W.Systems: To Kysha and Kealy
first and foremost - we both miss you terribly and love you
eternally...you both were like beautiful, brilliant shooting stars,
shooting all too briefly across the night sky of our
lives.
Thank you for teaching us
life-lessons about unconditional love, toughness, courage and
heart.
Special heartfelt thanks to Drs. Cole
and Broussard and the entire staff at Oak Park Veterinary Hospital
(www.oakparkvet.net). Oak
Park Veterinary Hospital is located in Oak Park, California
(91377) at 652-B
Lindero Canyon Road in the Oak Park Shopping Center at the
intersection of Lindero Canyon and Kanan Roads. Dr. Cole and Dr.
Broussard and the staff are the best!
Dr. Ross A. Lirtzman, DVM - Dr.
Lirtzman was affiliated with Veterinary Medical and Surgical Group
back in 2002/2003, but has since relocated to Las Vegas, and is
associated with Courtyard Animal Hospital. Dr. Lirtzman is
LITERALLY a life-saver, and successfully removed a cancerous tumor
from Kysha's lung lobe. Courtyard Animal Hospital and Las Vegas'
gain is truly our loss. As it says at the Courtyard Animal Hospital
website: 'Dr. Ross Lirtzman is Las Vegas' only full time board
certified veterinary surgeon, (and he) dazzles us almost daily
with his skills...' Dr. Lirtzman is an amazingly gifted
surgeon and a super-nice guy, too! We, too, were dazzled....but the
cancer was just too persistent for our little girl....Dr. Lirtzman
gave us nine months more with our little angel...
The staff and management at Veterinary
Medical and Surgical Group
(www.vmsg.com) in
Ventura, California are a true blessing to
Southern California's pet owners. There aren't too many situations
that the amazing docs at VMSG and their associates cannot handle,
and they work miracles on a daily basis. Special special thanks to
Dr. Todd Deppe and Dr. Theresa Ortega for
their skill, compassion and sensitivity with Kysha, Kealy and us.
God Bless y'all....
(Note: In memory of 'The Girlz',
P.A.W.System.com will donate 10% of all net proceeds to PetSmart
Charities. PetSmart is our favorite pet supply store, and we proudly
support their efforts to reduce pet euthanasia resulting from
overpopulation and overcrowded shelters. Furthermore, PetSmart
Charities also provides disaster assistance support,
such as hurricane relief efforts from Hurricane
Katrina and the Florida hurricane season.
